Alex was in Maliga to meet with the village leaders and plan with them the day to carry out hand washing triggering in the village. This is one village where WASH program had exited but will be going back purposely to teach people about the values of hand washing using the new approach. This needs to be captured in our data and it’s the reason why kibo group is back to this village. Alex moved with the chairman of the village and the VhT Fiida, one of the active leaders in the village. Alex was disappointed with the current situation of the borehole that lacks a fence and was extremely dirty. He also visited some homes in the village about 16 homes and saw that some facilities were so old and others had been affected by the rains. Alex asked if the sanitation and water committees were still doing their job and active but the vht was quite Frank to Alex and told him that these committee members had become inactive in many ways and needed to be reminded of their roles. Alex told the leaders that he would come back to lock the borehole unless they cleaned their well and put back the fence. The village leaders are very happy that kibo group is back to their community to teach about hand washing and remind the village about proper hygiene practices. They promised to mobilize all people to attend the triggering meeting scheduled on 12/04/2021. Alex was happy to meet the village chairman working on his new dish rack and requested him to move in all homes to encourage all people to do the same and replace their dilapidated facilities

The borehole in Maliga that was repaired by Kibo Group some time back was found with no fence and poorly managed. It was extremely dirty
