Notes
Manuela, Ida, Doug,Sheila and Tina went to Nawaibete village to teach the community members about mother to child transmission, How a mother can pass HIV Virus to her newly born child, during pregnancy and after birth. The objective of this lesson was to teach community members ways through which they can pass the virus to their babies and also to encourage them to always go to the health centre for check up and also when it comes to time for giving birth . Overview When Manuela and the team reached the village they found few people at the meeting point, Manuela and Ida took the visitors around homes inspecting how community members are making good use of stoves and other home facilities. After that Manuela and Ida took the visitors to the well that Kibo group drilled in this community. From there, Manuela Ida and the visitors came to the meeting point, Manuela drew the agenda and read to the community members telling them how the program is going to be conducted, the agenda stated that the program will start with prayers, communication from the local council one, introduction of the visitors, teacher, reaction from the community members and finally closure. Manuela started by introducing the lesson to the community members after that she asked the community members, if they know anything about the lesson some of the community members tried to share their ideas. As Manuela was teaching Ida was translating in English so that our visitors can also understand what Manuela was teaching. this lesson was community centred, Manuela would ask the questions and community members tried their level best to answer some of the questions, it was really a good discussion. At the end of the lesson Ida asked community members to remind her about what has been taught, they really understood what Manuela taught them and they were able to share all what they learnt while Manuela was teaching.r
