Notes
There is a great impact in the community, the VHTs, sub-county health inspector and the LC1 as leaders, they are taking the lead in monitoring, encouraging, mobilising and sharing pick axes to those community residents that have not constructed latrines yet. The focus nowadays it's on constructing new good and standard dish racks since many people's already constructed good latrines in there homes. The homes in the trading center have constructed new latrines, many new rubbish pits which are used. People lately sweep there compounds and make proper utilisation of the rubbish pits. Enock was so pleased to see that one old man called Mr kagawa Micheal for long didn't have a latrine in his home but he managed to dig a 20ft latrine hole and constructed on it. As soon as he saw Enock and the team walking around, he called them to come and check on his new latrine. He was very happy and the wife was so thankful for the program and all the lessons we have been teaching them. Enock emphasised for them to start using ash in the latrine to chase flies and reduce the bad smell. He walked also in the section where the Chairman LC1 came from and met some people smearing, constructing new dish racks. Enock taught them the importance of having all the facilities in place. The VHTs who act as the first medical attendants told Enock that there are few disease out breaks unlike before when they didn't have latrines in most of the homes.
