Notes
While Tom was scheduled to visit budumba village, he got a call from the inspector of Bulange requesting him to visit buluvu with him because he had mobilized vhts from other villages to go and show them what kibo is doing in the village of buluvu so that they can also learn and implement it in their villages. When Tom arrived, he found 38 vhts and the inspector waiting for him. The inspector introduced Tom to the group as well as telling them what kibo does. Later Tom spoke to the group telling them of its activities in the village as well as the strategies used to improve the hygiene and sanitation of the village. Tom thanked the vhts of buluvu village for the great work they have done. After the meeting, they split into two groups. One group went to the lower section of the village while Tom and another group went to the section of the mosque. In Tom’s section were he went, on the ground he found several new dish racks as well as pits being dug for the latrines. All together they were able to see 14 pits being dug and not forgetting one latrine being constructed in the trading center with brick and cement. The other group reported of finding several other pits being dug as well as one vht reporting for the first time of a woman digging a pit for the latrine. He said he had never seen that before and thanked kibo for the great work they are doing in the community. During the reflection meeting, all the vhts requested kibo to visit their villages but Tom encouraged them to try it on their own to be committed and improve the sanitation and hygiene standards of their villages. The health inspector promised to continue working with kibo to improve the hygiene and sanitation standards of bulange sub-county and many other vhts as well promised to always visit buluvu village and continue learning from kibo. They later agreed that they will be going back to buluvu as a team again on December 20th.
