Notes
Enock walked around with the local leaders to continue with the evaluation survey, monitor the progress of construction of new facilities, teach the residents some good designs of constructing efficient and long lasting facilities. The community is improving each and everyday, the home We walked in during the previous visit and had no latrines. Five of them are constructing new latrines, I saw also two already constructed latrines, dish racks, rubbish pits, smeared kitchens and clean compounds. The families are all busy cleaning there homes, we encouraged the children to help there relatives, Parents to construct all the facilities, clean the compounds, digging rubbish pits and standardizing all the facilities in homes. There is a home where we met a lot of trash in the compounds yet there are so many kids who have come back for holidays, we made them to sweep and taught them the importance of clean compounds. The children promised to always clean their home and use ash in the latrines. The pick axes are on a high demand and everyone who has no latrine is looking for one to start working on a new latrine hole. Those without pick axes are using hoes first as they wait for the pick axes to hit the rock. The people are taking the lessons seriously and embracing the program because they they have understood the benefits of good sanitation and hygiene.
