Notes
When Tom reached the village, he was meant to carry out an evaluation but instead he ended up doing the follow up because the Vht was sick and the other two were not present. He requested the chairman of the village to take him around the village while doing the evaluation but he had other responsibilities that he was going to. Tom and one resident moved on the lower section checking on sanitation improvements. In the first homes visited, they found a new latrine being dug which was about 8ft. Tom encouraged the resident to work hard and finish the pit. Also there was a new dish rack. They moved to other homes where they found a resident already finished the pit for a new latrine even though he still has an old one. Tom thanked them for being proactive and encouraged them to continue. Also their son has started on his own latrine by starting on digging the pit. Tom also moved in other homes were he encouraged the residents to always be proactive in sanitation and hygiene. Towards the end, one resident came to Tom and the committee member and thanked them for the good work. He is a young man who has just recently married, in his home, he has a new latrine, dish rack, shower, rubbish pit. He was very thankful and said because of the teachings and encouragements, he now has a good home that he is proud of and promised to maintain. Tom later left for Jinja.
