Tom made a visit to the lower section of the village to check on sanitation and hygiene improvements as well as encouraging the community about facility construction. Tom was joined by two committee members from, the lower section of the village and together they moved in homes checking and encouraging residents about there facilities.
They found some homes when they are working especially on the digging while others had started on the construction of facilities. In the lower section, they found especially in one home when the resident was constructing the structure on the pit. But the rains came in the night that destroyed the walls. Tom encouraged the resident of using burnt bricks instead of raw bricks for the structure as the burnt bricks could last longer and withstand rains.
In three other homes the construction of the structures has started. On one home, the structure was very small and Tom encouraged the residents to construct bigger structures which are easy to use instead of small ones. Tom also encouraged those residents on the lower section especially those constructing latrines near the swamp to use better bricks as well as better logs if they are to prevent their latrines from curving in. One resident had used weak materials and was encouraged to rebuild the structure. He offered to break the old structure and beyond another one. Also in one home, an elderly couple had started on a new pit and Tom encouraged them to continue working and improve on the sanitation of their home. Tom and the committee members also encouraged residents to construct square or rectangular structures as they are easier to roof as compared to circular structures.
