Notes
Tom and two committee members moved around the village checking on facility constructions as well as improvements in other areas of sanitation. They started off from the upper section as suggested by the, committee members before moving to another section of the village. In the upper section in the first home they visited, they found when the resident had just finished constructing the structure of the latrine on the pit. Tom and the committee members encouraged him to save so,e money for an iron sheet so that he can be able to roof it. The resident was very appreciative and said he would save and contribute towards the iron sheet. There was also a home of an elderly lady woman whom his grandchildren are helping to dig and construct a new latrine. The old latrine collapsed due to a heavy storm but Tom and the committee members were very thankful and appreciative to the elderly woman for end her grandchildren towards helping her with a new latrine. Her neighbor had also started on a new latrine and the pit was about 12ft. Tom and the committee members encouraged the resident to add on more depth before constructing on the structure. They were also encouraging residents about shower facilities maintenance and construction as well as the construction of new dish racks that meet the standards. As they moved from the upper section, they also found another home where the residents were digging the pit. The pit was at a depth of about 20ft but the resident said he wanted to dig to a depth of 30ft. Tom and the committee members thanked the resident for committing to such a structure and also encouraged him to start saving for the iron sheet as it will be important for it to be roofed. Across there was also a new pit being dug and the resident was also encouraged to use better logs and Tom shared with the residents about the better way of securing the logs on the pit using mud. As Tom,and the committee members discussed about the latrines, they were also discussing about standardization of shower facilities and dish racks.
