Notes
This was Alex’s first visit to Igerera B after the Christmas break and new year. His intention was to follow up on whether all the materials required to build the wall fence around the borehole. The new well in Igerera is not yet commissioned waiting on a wall fence to be constructed. The village had promised to get all the materials last year and be brought to the borehole site by the first week of January 2020. On a good note some of the materials have been got like 1500 bricks , sand and gravel was secured however not all the materials had been brought to the site. The village chairman promised to work very closely with the water user committee and the rest of the village residents to bring all the required materials to the borehole site by the end of this week. WASH is starting to test out a new borehole fence with this new well in Igerera B before scaling it out to the rest of the villages. Also the water user committee was encouraged to continue working together and to also communicate well with Kibo group when all the materials are got so that they can be guided well on how to construct the fence. The village leaders were also informed to be present next week Monday to welcome a new Kibo group in the village. Safe and health kitchens is planning to start working in this village and WASH has to make a transition and prepare the village for the next program. Both programs will continue to work together in this village. The village leaders were very happy and welcome the next program in the village. The construction of a new borehole fence is expected to start soon, complete the training of the water user committee and later commissioning of the new well will take place.
